Dark Chocolate Cacao Brownie Balls

These are the perfect treat for when you want something naughty. They are moist, indulgent and delicious. I like to make a big batch and keep them in the freezer so I always have them in the house. They are perfect for kids lunch boxes as a healthy alternative to something sweet. I love creating food that nourishes our body but still tastes amazing.

You can easily double or triple this mixture to make an abundance of these.

You will need ~
2 cups of Almond Meal
2 cups of Dates
4 tbsp Cacao
Vanilla Paste
Flakey Sea Salt
Dark Chocolate - I use Green and Blacks organic 70% dark
1 tsp Coconut Oil

To make ~
Combine all ingredients in the food processor.
Blend well until the mixture is smooth and wet enough to roll into a ball.
Place the dark chocolate and coconut oil in a silver bowl and melt over a pot of boiling water.
Roll each ball in the dark chocolate.
Garnish with flakey sea salt and whichever flavour you added.

Tips ~
Soak the dates in boiling hot water and vanilla so they are soft enough to blend
Use a fork to scoop the balls out of the bowl to drip off any excess chocolate
Adding coconut oil to chocolate smooths out the chocolate and gives the balls a really nice shine.
You can make these with many different flavours
Choc mint - add peppermint oil
Snickers - add peanut butter
Cinnamon - add a good dash of cinnamon
Strawberry - add freeze dried strawberries
Other flavours to try - coconut, pistachio, hazelnut
